Introduction

All students have the right to equality of opportunity in physical education. The development of each and every individual is our primary aim.

Physical Education contributes to the overall education of our students by helping them to lead full lives by engaging in purposeful physical activity.

Through a varied programme of physical education all students have the opportunity to develop their physical skills as well as the development of key skills including working well with other people, communication, problem solving and creativity, developing self confidence and self esteem, independent learning and citizenship.

Courses offered

KS3 Years 7,8 and 9

Upon arrival in Year 7, all students follow a programme of Speed, Agility and Quickness (SAQ) over the first half term.  This enables staff to ensure students are appropriately grouped in order to ensure appropriate progression towards each individual student’s achieving their full potential throughout the Key Stage.

Students undertake one double lesson (1 hour 40 minutes) of physical education per week.

Students follow a wide and varied programme of physical activity for both team and individual disciplines in line with the current National Curriculum for Physical Education.

Bokwa Class - Students draw letters and numbers with their feet, while moving together to music in free form rhythm.
